As planned in 2010 we have a exciting series running along side DriftAustralia. More details will be posted closer to the events. DriftAustralia will be covered by Channel 1 (digitsl TV) this year so it's sure to raise the profile of RCD as well.

Here is the list of Venues & Dates.

April 10-11th Eastern Creek Raceway
May 29-30th Queensland Raceway
Jul 17-18th Hidden Valley Raceway
Sep 4-5th Mallala Motor Sport Park
Oct 16-17th Symmons Plains

Driftfest - TBA - Calder Park

The new RCDrift.com.au website will go live in a few days so keep an eye out for information, registration and content. Followed by a new rcdriftaustralia.com.au website as soon as we can.

PS. Does anyone have any video footage from the RCD Nats? We would like to make a promo video, if anyone can help that would be much appreciated. Just sedn me an email. Thanks.

FAKE T-DRIFTS BEWARE - Reported by kwax on 24 January 2010

Passing on the word from John Turner member of DRCcentral

Quote: Okay, the kids have discovered knock off T-Drifts on the web! They look like the real thing (if you take a mould of the real thing then reproduce them with your injection moulding machine, they will, even down to the HPI Racing on the sidewall!) but they are not the real thing. The real thing only comes in pairs with the HPI card top. I'm sure, before long, they'll get wise and copy that too.

Notwithstanding that it's illegal in the UK to sell/purchase counterfeit goods, because the plastic compound cannot be the same as the real thing, these cannot be used in D1RC competition as performance may vary from the control tyre. Even if it didn't, it isn't, so it can't be.... a control tyre!

So, if you wish to do business with this outfit then do so at your own risk but, to avoid any doubts about real or not real at D1RC events, Paul has been advised how to tell the difference (HPI know all about them and are taking actions) and drivers caught using them will be banned from the events - see existing rules re tyres, using a non-control tyre is cheating!

Additionally, HPI may be supplying specially marked control tyres for D1RC at the normally discounted prices so please hold back on purchasing the season's stocks from other sources, even legal ones!

And who, incidentally, found these and spread the 'good' news........... rolleyes.gif

anyone caught selling these tyres or using them around here will risk their SRCD membership.

ShowCarSunday Updated! - Reported by joe4II on 22 January 2010

http://i45.tinypic.com/2i1gx2o.jpg

It's finally here! Sooner than expected so everyone can enjoy the show over Australia Day Weekend.

Dates been moved to 24th January (This Sunday)

With over 50 trophies up for grabs, Showcar Sunday showcases the angled classic lines of supercharged muscle, the elegant flowing lines of high performance imports and the intricate engineering of custom choppers. The level of craftsmanship is set to be outstanding. Australia builds some of the best cars in the world, and the best Sydney has to offer is going to be on display on January 31, 2010.

At Showcar Sunday we know that success comes with responsibility. That’s why we will be raising money for the Westmead Children’s throughout the day. Collection tins and Mr Bandaged Bear will be making an appearance so please support this good cause. As a part of our commitment to giving back to the community, we’ll be donating $10 from each car entry and proceeds from every entry ticket sold. There’s also a huge $15,000 raffle, with all money raised from the $5 tickets to be donated.

Prizes include:

• $10,000 paint job from 2 SUS custom resprays
• 20-inch wire rims from 64 Customs
• Meguiars Jumbo Pack
• Signed Parramatta Eels jersey

A Family Event
Showcar Sunday is all about modifiers getting together and having a good time. We’re sick of car builders being portrayed in the media as anti-social ‘hoons’. That’s why we’re going to all lengths to make Showcar Sunday a family-friendly event. Along with entertainment on-stage all day, charity involvement, and celebrity appearances, there will be plenty of rides and other activities for the kids.

An event not to be missed!

The Hobby Shed indoor track open soon. - Reported by stephoon on 11 January 2010

Hi guys, happy to say that The Hobby Shed indoor track will be open soon. Will be a different layout to the old shop because the new shop is bigger so the track is as well. Helped Harlan grind the track up last saturday so we can get it painted this week and for the driver stand to be installed.

I have given him a couple of track layout that i think that will be good for drifting but he wants to set it up for on road racing but we can switch the track around to suit the drifters. I will take photos to keep you guys posted.
